Vendors/Trunk Shows so far: Why Knot Fibers, Knits from MI Woods, Super Nova.
We are very excited to once again, have this opportunity to gather up our wonderful fiber community.
Here's a little bit about Tracie, the curator that started this Retreat 6 years ago, in case you don't know me personally:
I am a Fiber Artist who lives in the same township I grew up in as a child. I was taught how to sew, knit, crochet, and weave. My mother and grandmother were my inspiration to continue learning about how to make garments and home decor.
In my twenties, I learned how to hand spin my own yarn and I also purchased a floor loom for weaving mostly rugs. Nearly 20 years ago I began a small hobby farm with llamas and alpacas while still residing in Long Lake Township.
I enjoy processing my own fiber from the animals back to the finished project. Through the years, I’ve been approached by other local farmers and have helped them find ways to market their sustainable fibers to consumers. I now have years of experience with luxury fibers such as alpaca, yak, cashmere, angora, mohair, and wool from many varieties of sheep.
Today, I still love to work with all different fibers in my projects and most of the yarns in my finished pieces are all hand spun.
I teach knitting, spinning yarn on a wheel, and sewing/quilting at various shops and events.
